At Architectuurcentrum Amsterdam (Arcam), the multimedia maquette for Haven-Stad invites visitors to explore the challenges of the Netherlands' largest urban expansion since IJburg. The installation features six interactive transparent maquettes of subareas, allowing visitors to learn about challenges, historical context, and case studies, and contribute their own opinion. Next to the research station, a maquette of the whole area provides context and invites for discussion.

It was a pleasure collaborating with city planners, urbanists, the University of Amsterdam, the City of Amsterdam, Studio Transue, and several others. Various playful yet informative ideas were brainstormed and tested to help visitors familiarize themselves with the developments and challenges of the entire metropolitan region. The process included experimenting with physical buttons, placing a transparent maquette on top of a screen, and incorporating different digital layers and animations. Ultimately, the concept evolved to separate the research station from the large maquette and place the six smaller maquettes on the screen to unlock content for each one.
The multimedia maquette is still a work in progress, much like the plans for Haven-Stad. Over the coming years, the installation will be updated with the latest insights.

This project highlights my ability to explore and refine multiple interactive concepts, engaging in critical discussions to ultimately select the most valuable solution. It demonstrates my skill in combining physical maquettes with digital layers to present complex content in a clear and accessible way. The process also involved hands-on physical prototyping, allowing for an iterative approach that results in a more engaging and informative user experience.
