From October to December 2024, I participated in the certificate course "Exhibition Design" at the Universität der Künste in Berlin where I stepped out of my Amsterdam bubble to dive deeper into a field I'm passionate about and discover new creative opportunities.

On four long-weekends, with a group of 20 participants form different backgrounds, we explored a diverse range of exhibitions, from classical art collections to natural history museums and immersive brand experiences. We gained behind-the-scenes insights into work processes, design concepts and the use of media from industry-leading experts. With my educational background in Multimedia Design it was great to explore unfamiliar topics like Spatial Design, lightning and sustainable materials - contributing to a better understanding of the complex exhibition design process.
I’m grateful for the inspiring lecturers and fellow participants and the chance to develop my own fictional exhibition design concept: Emotional Spaces, which I presented during the final colloquium.

"Emotional Spaces" is an immersive experience which invites visitors between 15-25 years to immerse themselves in different emotional rooms. Through a multisensory approach—incorporating light, color, textures, sound, and scent—each space is designed to evoke a specific mood, allowing visitors to engage with and interpret their individual emotional experience. At the end of each emotion room, visitors reflect on what they've experienced, gaining a deeper understanding of the diverse spectrum of human emotions.
The concept is focused on creating multisensory perception and emotional experiences, aiming to engage visitors in a personal and reflective journey.
